Costume Contest Info & Show Policies
I think we can all agree that dressing up for Halloween is a lot of fun. With Halloween X-SPO you now have an excuse to dress up for another day besides just on Halloween! Below is further information regarding our Adult Costume Contest and Kids Costume Contest as well as further show policies.
ATTENTION:
Plan Accordingly: The Spokane Convention Center Requires All Attendees to Pass through a Security Checkpoint at the Main Entrance entailing Bag Check and Metal Detector.
No Real Weapons or Blades are allowed indoors.
All Cosplay Prop Weapons must be Peace Bonded outside Main Entrance prior to going through Metal Detectors at our tent. Thank you!

Adult Costume Contest
Saturday 10.5.2024 @4:00pm
Hall B (Main Stage)
Simple Rules:
1. Purchase an Admission ticket good for Saturday 10.5.2024.
2. Check-in at our Information Booth (Lobby) to get your "walking number" between 10:00am to 3:00pm.
3. Line up near Main Stage (Hall B) by 3:45pm based on your "walking number".
4. When it's your turn, walk on stage and strike a pose!
5. Store bought & Handmade Costumes are acceptable.

Adult Contest is for Ages 13 & Up.

Limited to 75 participants.

Groups are allowed to compete but no additional prizes will be awarded if your group wins. That's up to you to split the prize.

Audience Participation Encouraged with Final Determination of winners by Costume Contest Emcee.
Prizes:​
First Place for "Best Adult Costume" - $200 gift certificate to The Comic Book Shop in Spokane, WA & Trophy.

2nd Place for "Best Adult Costume" - $100 gift certificate to The Comic Book Shop in Spokane, WA & Trophy.

Kids Costume Contest
Sunday 10.6.2024 @2:00pm
Conference Theater (Main Stage)
Simple Rules:
1. All kids 12 & Under are FREE with General Admission Ticket (ages 13 & up) and must be accompanied by an Adult to enter.
2. Check-in at our Information Booth (Lobby) to get your "walking number" between 10:00am to 1:30pm.
3. Line up near Main Stage by 1:50pm based on your "walking number".
4. When it's Your turn walk on stage, then strike a pose!
5. Store bought & Handmade Costumes are acceptable.

Kids Contest is for Ages 5 to 12 years old.

Limited to 50 participants.

No Parental Assistance is Allowed on stage without permission.

Audience Participation Encouraged with Final Determination of winners by Costume Contest Emcee.

First Place for "Best Kids Costume" - $75 gift certificate to Triple Play in CDA, Idaho.

2nd Place for "Best Kids Costume" - $50 gift certificate to The Comic Book Shop in Spokane, WA.

Yes, this is an all ages show but parents need to use their best judgement when brining little kids as subject matter could be scary to little kids.

No strobe lights, no flashing lights.

Will there be any jump scares?

No jump scares will be allowed.

Will this event be in the dark like a haunted house?

No, the lights will remain on at all times.

What is the recommended age for my kid(s) to attend on their own?

Ages 13 & up but Convention Center and Show Staff are not responsible for baby sitting or supervising your kids. We recommending at least one adult attend.

Will there be food available on site?

Yes, there will be concessions with food and drinks for purchase.
